Littering is bad you know…….. Litter is waste disposed of in the wrong place by unlawful human action and can vary in size of incident, occurrence or items. It can occur as small items like wrappers, large collections of waste or scatterings of litter dispersed around public places outdoors. Litter can be occasioned by malicious intent, carelessness, or by accident. Litter has the potential to cause harm to human health, safety, and welfare; it harms wildlife and environmental quality on Earth. Waste abandoned in a private space is not considered litter. The American Public Works Association standardized the term litter in the mid-20th Century, to be later known as a form of solid waste — "material which, if thrown or deposited, tends to create a danger to public health, safety and welfare." Our explanations or reasons on why we shouldn’t litter: Yusoff-I don’t want to attend CIP Khairul-I don’t want to waste my precious money on fines Fazli-I don’t want to waste my time doing CIP Rizky-I want to keep the environment clean!
Our point of views (dangers) -unwanted materials would collect water and the Stagnant water would be a breeding site for insects -the mosquito population would increase and it would also “Increase” the number of deaths
Our point of views (advantages) litter-free -keeping the world litter free can mean lesser deaths -tourists would be attracted to our country -our environment would be cleaner Taken from: the brains of 4 people^_^
Solutions: -We can help raise awareness about the consequences of littering. -The dangers of littering and the disadvantages of doing so.
Fact: Little India is one of the most littered places in Singapore.
OVERALL summary: Don’t let your attitude and habit give Singapore an unpleasant look and environment. It will also entitle you a fine and CIP work. If you don’t want it to happen……you can start to inculcate a good habit and throw litter in the dustbins around you.
